What is Painting & How structural steel paint is done?

Paint is the most commonly used material to protect steel. The protective paint systems usually consist of primer, undercoats and finish coats. Each coating layer in any protective system has a specific function, and the different types are applied in a particular sequence of primer followed by intermediate / build coats in the shop, and finally the finish or top coat either in the shop or on site.

1. We carefully control the mixing of paint, including ratios and thinners, and adhere to the paint's pot life and drying times.
2. We follow the paint manufacturer's instructions for the specific paint being used.
3. Our trained and experienced painters carry out all paint applications.
4. We consider weather conditions and avoid painting in unsuitable environments (e.g., high wind, extreme temperatures, high humidity).
5. We use approved application equipment to apply each coat of paint.
6. We may use airless spray to achieve an even paint thickness.
7. We address any paint spills immediately to prevent contamination.

Quality Checks:

1. We check the thickness of the paint coating to ensure it meets the required specifications.
